Well we had a few days off of rehearsal last week due to the fact that most of us have been hacking, coughing and blowing our noses. A cold seems to be going around the whole area, because the other day when I went to Walmart to get some Fishermen’s Friends (the most awful tasting cough drops, but they work) they where sold out. Even when we started up again on Monday night there was only maybe 25 people. Oh well, what can I say it was good practice for getting more confident in small groups.

Speaking of which, I haven’t told you…at the end of January we had a small group performance in Richmond Hill at the performing arts theater (which is really a nice place). I’m not quite sure how to describe the group it was for, but here it goes…It was for a group that puts on trade shows that feature kids activities, schools, camps, etc. and they invite the parents and children to come check it out and enjoy some entertainment…there I think that describes it. Well any way we where the first act to go on and when the curtain lifted we were treated to the sight of ONE, yes 1, loan audience member enthusiastically enjoying our performance, and the kicker was that audience member was with the orchestra! OK the rest of the story is that it didn’t take long for more people to wander into the auditorium to watch and enjoy and by the rest of the sets we had a house full of clapping and foot stomping going on. We also had a small group in Sprucedale the same night as the Olympic Opening Ceremonies, unfortunately I have to run so you will have to wait till the next post to hear about that. I’ll try not to take as long to post next time
