TRUCKS VS. TRAILERSSSS

Published by Little Bird under Uncategorized

I’m just about ready for the performance in Dwight tonight. We leave in about half an hour. It should be interesting. For a large performance we usually rent 2 of U-Hauls biggest trucks (26 ft. each, I think) and a huge trailer. Well as it turns out this lovely holiday weekend it seems that everyone in Ontario decided to rent a U-Haul. We ended up being able to get our hands on one big truck, one small (teeny, tiny) truck and 3 or 4 trailers. The whole show might actually be us unloading and loading :) Oh well, I’m sure it will work out just some last minute adjustments for everyone. At least we got something.

O CANADA!!!

Published by Little Bird under Events, Photo's

First, I have to give a BIG shout out to Anne in Belleville. She claims to be our biggest fan and I believe her! If anyone wants to challenge for the title of biggest fan let’s have it. Belleville was great as usual. This year because of all the rain the park looked great everything was so green and everything that wasn’t green was red and white of course. A few changes this year they didn’t have a citizen swearing in ceremony and we didn’t play O Canada (a group of acapella singers took care of that). There was a pretty decent crowd this year and they really seemed to enjoy it. We drove home the next day and the upside was normally we would have to unload the trucks but we didn’t because we headed to Orrville on Saturday.

Lots of the small communities around here do a Canada Day celebration on the weekend near July 1 which is nice because you can enjoy the big show in the city and then have a nice relaxed celebration, small town style. There weren’t too many people there but they seemed to like it. Also, Alex, one of the very first guys who hired us for a few events in the early years was there. It was really nice to see him. It ended up being a scorcher of a day so it was kind of nice that we were wearing white shirts. Believe me they are much cooler than the black ones. Well here are few pictures.
