BRIGHT SPOT IN A LONG WINTER

Published by under Uncategorized

It’s been a little bit since we did the Sprucedale performance, but I thought I would let you know how it went. The new community centre is nice. Amazing acoustics! Go figure a square room with no sound dampening (well I suppose all the people there helped with that!) and it sounded GREAT! You could really here the middle section, the altos, guitars, and cellos. Sometimes their sound gets lost in everything or maybe I should say they blend a little too well. It really sounded good all the hard work that we have been doing this winter is paying off. Sometimes it is hard for me to tell because I hear it everyday so I don’t notice the difference. So it was nice to be able to hear the improvement. When you sweat over the details and we are talking tiny, tiny detail 1/16th of a beat it feels good to hear it sound so good and to see people enjoying it. The audience was great and there was a group of fiddlers who were also performing that really got into it. I didn’t get a chance to take that many pictures or that good of ones LOL, but here’s what I got.

SMALL GROUP PRACTICE TOMORROW

Published by under Uncategorized

A sunny spot in this long bleak winter is coming. This Friday night we will be performing at the Sprucedale Winter Carnival, OK so it’s not the biggest event we play and it is only a small group of about 20 performers but at least it’s a change of pace. I’m not actually on the list to play but since it’s a public event maybe I’ll go watch the performance plus there should also be some other great local acts. Last year when we played at the Winter Carnival it was at the old community centre. This year the event will be at the new one and there should be a lot more room. So I’ll save you a seat next to mine if you promise to come.
